Kecites that in spite of former proclamations some outed
ministers persist in preaching. All heretors are to declare
timeously the names of any who take on them to preach to
the sheriffs, &c., who are to apprehend them, and detain
them till order of Council. All proclamations against with-
drawers from church to be put in execution. This to be
printed and published.

Patrick Graham of Inchbrackie, post master generall, has
appointed a constant foot post between Edinburgh and In¬
verness. His charge is 2s. Scots for a single sheet for 40
miles or under, a double letter 4s., an ounce 5s.; 3s. for
a single sheet for 60 miles, 4s. for 80 miles or above. No
other persons to carry letters. Kobert Weir in Edinburgh,
John Udell in Aberdeen, Dennis Latesonder in Elgin, and
William Trent in Inverness to receive letters. These to be
printed and published.

Sir James Campbel of Lawers has commission till 31 Dec.
1670 to bring to justice all thieves and broken men in
certain counties, and to replace all stolen goods unless the
thieves are brought to justice. Notice to be given within
four days to Sir James or to Alexander Chisholm at Dum-
blane, John Stewart at Perth, Duncan Campbel in Ochtertyre
at Straphillan, Donald Dow M<'ean Viconchy at Castletoun in
Brae of Mar, or Alexander Cuming Nottar at Euthven of
Badzenoch. All landlords, chieftains of clannes, &c., to
assist Sir James. These to be proclaimed and read in all
par och-k irks.

Cites the effect of various acts against papists. These are
to be enforced. All Jesuits, &c., to leave before 1 March
next. Sheriffs may break open houses where mass is being
said. No papist may hold any office after 28 February
next. All suspected papists esteemed such unless they
produce a certificate of conformity and having taken the
sacrament from the bishop within forty days. These to be
printed and published.

a shield and coat of arms covering the other, and hence
called leg-dollars, pass at 58s. Scots. They are only of the
same value as cross-dollars, and are to pass at 56s. Scots (the
rex- or bank-dollar passing at 58s.). These to be printed
and published.

All sheriffs, &c., to inform themselves where conventicles
have been kept since 19 October last, and call before them
the ministers who preached, and the heretors and substantial
men who have been present, or had their children baptized
there and send them to the Council, if necessary by a party
of horse, paid 18s. Scots for each horseman and 3s. sterling
for the officer each day till their return. Order to print and
publish.
