In consequence of the increase of the plague in London,
all trade with it and with other infected places in England
is stopped till 1 Nov. next, whether by sea or by land in
packs or otherwise. No one is to load a ship for an infected
town, or to discharge cargo from it, till they have handled
it daily for 40 days. All persons coming from England to
stay on the borders till they are examined. They are to
bring a particular pass with them that they come from
places free of plague, on pain of loss of their goods, ships,
and lives. No one to board any vessel without a warrant on
pain of forfeiture of their boat and 40 days' trial with fine
afterwards. Guards to be set on suspect goods and men during
40 days' trial. These to be printed and published at Edin¬
burgh, ' Peir and Shear of Leith ' and elsewhere.

The Convention of Estates have granted 40s. yearly on
every pound land of old extent for 5 years payable at Whit-
sonday 1666, 1667, 1668, 1669, and 1670. Certain shires pay
only 2 merks by reason of their high retours. The burgh of
[Aberdeen] is to elect persons to stent their neighbours and
make a_ stent roll in 24 hours, payment of the tax to be
made within 3 days, and thereon pay it to [William Duke
of Hamilton] collector general for the [fourth] term.

No. 2250. These Acts are extended to all admitted
ministers since deposed. They are to move 20 miles
from their parish, 6 miles from Edinburgh, and 3 miles from
any burgh royal, and not exercise any preaching or teach¬
ing office without permission.

persons who withdraw from their own parish churches, as
infusing poisonous and pernicious principles to the confusion
and ruin of church and kingdom ; all who attend them
shall be counted seditious, and punished as such ; ministers
