[Concerning the supply of bread.]
Leith : 17 December 1651.

No baker to sell bread which is not sound, sufficient,
wholesome, and due weight, on pain of seizure. All bakers
to set their marks on their loaves, and to sell only at the
Tuesday and Friday markets at the Bridgeend, not running
from house to house. Halfpenny, penny, and twopenny
loaves to be baked. Leith bakers may sell bread in Edin¬
burgh on market days. This to be proclaimed.

at Edinburgh between six and nine p.m. (2) The streets, closes, and
wynds to be cleaned within fourteen days and kept so. (3) Fine for

beer, and ale, on pain of paying twenty shillings sterling
per day from 2 February next.
