Found only in MS.
Calling in all the gold and silver coins, Scots or foreign,
to be recoined. The gold to be 22 carats fine (2 grains
remedy) at £36 the ounce in £6 pieces and £3 pieces. On
one side a sceptre and a sword crosswise with a crown above,
a thistle on every side, and the year below, circumscription
Salus populi suprema lex, with a little rose at the beginning
of the 'ditone'; on the other the King's arms in a shield,
crowned, circumscription Jacobus sexlus D. G. B. Scotomm.
The silver to be 11 deniers fine (2 grains remedy) at £3 the
ounce, in mark pieces, half-marks, and 40(/. pieces. On one
side a thistle with two leaves, crowned, and year, circumscrip¬
tion liegem Joua protegit; on the other the King's arms in a
crowned shield and Jacohus sextus D. G. R. Scotorum. Old
coinage to be current till 1 January. Mint prices for old
coins: £33 the oz., 22 carat gold; 55s. the oz. for silver
11 deniers fine. Twopenny pieces of copper to be coined,
nine to the ounce. Twelvepence in every £ of sums due
may be paid in copper. Its inscription to be the same as
the other copper coin. This to be proclaimed.
