On the complaint of Eobert Montgomerie, Archbishop of
Glasgow, that he has been excommunicated for accepting
and exercising his office, in contenijat of the orders of the
Secret Council, and that in contempt of the letters of 12 June
the elders and presbytery of Stirling have summoned Robert
Eamsay, notary, Steven Aikman, Gilbert Christesone, and
Margaret Eoye to appear and answer for sheltering and
eating with an excommunicated person, viz. the said Arch¬
bishop. All presbyteries, &c., to desist from motions for
excommunication of the said Eamsay, &c. The letters of
dispensation to Montgomerie to be proclaimed, and the ex¬
communication suspended for further hearing.
