In Galway, Athlone, Belturbet, Bannagher, Portumna,
Sligoe, and Birr wheat and other provisions are bought in
the market for the garrisons. Wheat will be bought for
ready money at 12s. 6d. per barrel Dublin measure. Sheriffs
are to protect all persons going to or coming from market.
Tenants of forfeited lands to be protected and encouraged
to plough or sow. Under-tenants, when the chief tenant
is in default, may pay the former rent, or the custom of the
barony at their option. Growing crops at expiration of
tenancy to be enjoyed by persons sowing them. Any person
may enter on unlet forfeited lands, and plough and sow
them on giving notice to the collector of the district within
ten days. No horses or cars of tenants ploughing or sowing
to be pressed.

The army being in winter quarters the subjects in the
respective counties shall provide for it at the rates and
prices affixed. Soldiers are to pay out of their subsistence
money, or officers are to sign weekly bills, payable by the
commissioners of accounts in Dublin. Troopers to be sup¬
plied with 20 lb. of hay and sufficient straw, and 1 peck of
oats per day. Forage, &c., to be taken from a magazine if
possible. Prices: Wheat, per barrel of 128 Winchester
quarts, 13s.; oats, 4s.; oatmeal, Id. quart; mutton, 1^,7.
lb. ; beef, l^d. lb. ; new milk cheese, 2^d. ; skim milk
cheese, l^d. ; butter, 3^d. ; strong beer, 2d. quart; brandy,
2s. quart; good waters. Is. 3d. quart; milk, ^d. quart; hay.
Is. per hundred ; diet (one hot meal and bread and cheese
morning and night); trumpet and corporal of horse, 3s. Qd.
a week; trooper, 3s. ; non-com. officers, dragoons, 3s. ;
trooper, 2s. 6d. ; non-com. officers, foot, 2s. ; common
soldier, Is. 6d. Landlords to allow fire, small beer, salt
and ' sower' when they do not diet.

a mile of Cork on 26 October. <£40 reward will be paid on
