been exported from England contrary to the proclamation

The laws against export of gold or silver are to be ob¬
served. Informers to have one-fourth the forfeiture. Offend¬
ers to be imprisoned three months in addition to forfeiture
of same intended for export.

by the Ryght Honorable Erie of Sussex Lord Leu-
tenant Generall of the Quenes Maiesties Realme of
lerland, with thassent, and consent, of the Nobelytie,
and Counsell, of the same Realme.

The Queen wishes to make known the ' presompteuos,
arrgant, fellonios, rebellios, & trayteros, deads of Shan
Onell', and ' her gratius & mercyful proceding with him '.
He did not come to the Council called in 1556 against
mac Connell. In 1557 he delayed joining the expedition
against James mac Connell, and when he came he left again
after two or three days. In 1558 he was reinstated in loyalty
by Sir Henry Sidney. On the news of the death of Queen
Mary he murdered his brother, Baron of Dungannon, and
dispossessed his father, making himself be proclaimed Oneil.
He was summoned to Council in 1559, but refused to come
without sureties. Sir W. Fitzwyllyams, Sir Heniy Kadclif,
Sir George Stanley, Marshall of the Army, and Chief Justice
Plunket. On coming to Dundalk he swore peace. In
1560 he again refused obedience, and now maintains a
traitor. Archbishop of Armagh, and other proclaimed traitors.
He is therefore proclaimed traitor.
