26 SEPTEMBER 1766.
26 September. By the Privy Coimcil. For laying an
embargo upon all vessels in the Ports of Great Britain,
laden with wheat, or wheat flour for exportation until
the 14th November.
26 September. By the Privy Council. Prohibiting the
distillation or making of any kind of low wines or spirits
from wheat, etc., until the 14th November.
Note.—29 September. Birth of the Princess Royal,
Charlotte Augusta Matilda (afterwards Queen of
Wurtemburg), at St. James's Palace.
7 October. By the Lords Justices of Ireland. For
preventing the exportation of corn, on account of the
failure of the crops in this kingdom, and in many parts
of Europe.

15 October. By the Privy Council. Requiring Davis
Scott and three others of Tordiff, to surrender themselves,
for being concerned in smuggling at Dub Mill, Cumber¬
land, on the 14th August 1764.
15 October. By the Privy Council. Requiring John
Scott, of Tordifi^, and eighteen others to surrender them¬
selves, for being concerned in smuggling near Maryport,
Cumberland, on the iGth January 1765.
23 October. By the Lords Justices of Ireland. For
preventing the exportation of corn, on account of the
faikire of the crops.

11 November. His Majesty's Speech at the opening of
the new session of Parliament.
12 November. By the Privy Council. Continuing the
embargo on wheat laid by Order of the 26th September,
and laying an additional embargo on barley.
10 December. By the Privy Council. Requiring Henry
Willis, of Seaton, and John Hatherley, of Heavitree, to
surrender themselves, for being concerned in smuggling
at Collaton, Devon, on the 9th January 1764.
10 December. By the Privy Council. Requiring James
Annmg and Thomas Gilford, of Paignton, to surrender
themselves, for being concerned in smuggling at
Heavitree, Devon, on the 19th April last.

Note. —10 January. Notification in the " London
Gazette " of this date to the effect : " That for the
future, in order to obviate mistakes and inconveniences,
commissions granted to Army Officers will be regularly
published in the ' Gazette '."
13 February. By the Lords Justices of Ireland. Against
David Moloney and others, for unlawfully entering the
dwelling house of Bartholomew Connel, of Lahardan,
CO. Clare, with intent to carry away Helen Egan and
Alice Lyons.

of Canada. Ordinance admitting Canadians of French

20 March. By the Lords Jiistices of Irelaiid. Against
the persons who broke open the hatches of the ship
" The Happy Return," and carried away a quantity of
bacon, and cut and damaged the rigging.

the persons named, for assaulting George Boyd, petty
constable, of co. Down, and rescuing Terence Branagan,
who had been committed for felony.

Parliament further prorogued from the 21st April to the
27th August.
10 April. By the Lords Justices of Ireland. Against
the persons named, for forcibly carrying away Catherine
FItz Patrick with intent to ravish her.

10 April. By the Lords Justices of Ireland. Against
the persons who murdered Ellinor Ringley, cotton
spinner, in a field near St. James's Street, Dublin.

26 June. By the Lords Justices of Ireland. Against the
persons who robbed certain carmen of cargo goods,
consisting of linens, silks, poplins, etc., the property of
different shopkeepers in Cork, and destroyed the same.

26 June. By the Privy Council. Against returning the
names of Officers of Militia as eligible for the Office of
Sheriff", contrary to law.
2 July. His Majesty's Speech proroguing Parliament
to the 31st August.
23 July. For apprehending the persons who sent
threatening and incendiary letters to Robert Dundas,
Esq., Lord President of the Court of Sessions in Scotland.

24 July. By the Privy Council. For allowing the free
importation of wheat, etc., into Great Britain from
any part of H.M. Dominions in America, until the
I St February 1768.
27 July. By his Majesty's Special Commissioner. That
a Survey of the Forest of Knaresborough is to be taken
on the 3rd September, for enquiring into abuses, etc.
5 August. Peers of Scotland to meet on the ist
October, and elect two representatives in place of the
Earls of Moray and Hyndford (deceased).

21 August. By the Lords Justices of Ireland. The
Irish Parliament further prorogued from the 27th August
to the 13th October.
26 August. By the Privy Council. Parliament further
prorogued from the 31st August to the 7th October.
28 August. By the Privy Coimcil. For continuing to
allow the free importation of oats, oatmeal, rye, etc.,
into Great Britain, from any Port of Europe, until
twenty days after the opening of the next session of
Parliament.
