573 HYMNS. [PAH
3 Thou didst once a wretch behold.
In rebellion blindly bold.
Scorn thy grace, thy pow’r defy;
That poor rebel. Lord, was I.
4 Once a sinner near despair.
Sought thy mercy-seat oypray’r;
Mercy heard and set him free.
Lord, that mercy came to me.
5 Many days have pass’d since then.
Many changes I have seen,
Yet have been upheld till now;
Who coold hold me up but thou ?
6 Thou hast help’d in ev’ry need ;
This emboldens me to plead:
After so much mercy past,
Canst thou let me sink at last!
7 No—I must maintain my hold,
’Tis thy goodness makes me bold ;
I can no denial take.
When I plead for Jesn’s sake.
573.
The Lord's Prayer. Matth. vi. 9—13.
1 TT'ATHER of all! we bow to thee
Who dwell’st in heav’n ador’d;
But present still, through all thy works,
The universal Lord.
2 For ever hallow’d be thy name
By all beneath the skies ;
And may thy kingdom still advance,
Till grace to glory rise.
3 A grateful homage may we yield.
With hearts resign’d to thee;
And as in heav’n thy will is done,
On earth so let it be.
