, IT. II.] HYMNS. 521
He fix’d the seas what hounds to keep.
And where the hills must stand.
Come, and with humble souls adore,
Come, kneel before his face;
0 may the creatures of his pow’r
Be children of his grace!
INow is the time: he bends his ear,
i And waits for your request;
|Come, lest he rouse his wrath and swear
1 “ Ye shall not see my rest.”
521.
I’Ae Invitation of the Gospel; or. Spiritual Food and
Clothing. Isaiah Iv. 1, &c.
T ET ev’ry mortal ear attend,
And ev’ry heart rejoice,
The trumpet of the gospel sounds
With an inviting voice.
, Ho, all ye hungry starving souls,
a That feed upon the wind,
’ And vainly strive with earthly toys
To fill an empty mind.
’Eternal Wisdom has prepar’d
' A soul-reviving feast.
And bids your longing appetites
The rich provision taste.
Ho, ye that pant for living streams,
I And pine away and die.
Here you may quench your raging thirst
With springs that never dry.
i Rivers of love and mercy here
In a rich ocean join;
Salvation in abundance flows,
Like floods of milk and wine.
He fix’d the seas what hounds to keep.
And where the hills must stand.
Come, and with humble souls adore,
Come, kneel before his face;
0 may the creatures of his pow’r
Be children of his grace!
