\ WAKE our languid souls,
Shake off each slothful band;
The wonders of this day
Our noblest songs demand :
(uspicious morn! thy blissful rays
f e hail in grateful songs of praise.
jAt thy approaching dawn,
I He burst death’s feeble bands,
s . And spoil’d our cruel foes ;
nd now he reigns with pow’r complete,
• i crush them all beneath his feet.
All hail! triumphant Lord,”
Heav’n with hosannas rings;
While earth, in humbler strains,
Thy praise responsive sings :
Worthy art thou who once wast slain.
Through endless years to live and reign.”
Great King, gird on thy sword.
Ascend thy conqu’ring car;
