t great High Priest our nature wears,
"" e guardian of mankind appears.
who for men their surety stood,
Lnd pour’d on earth his> precious blood,

fhough now ascended up on high,
Je bends on earth a brother’s eye;
partaker of the human name,
le knows the frailty of our frame,
kur fellow-sufPrer yet retains
. fellow-feeling of our pains,
Ind still remembers in the skies
[is tears^fiis agonies, and cries,
v’ry pang that rends the heart
man of sorrows had a part;
le sympathizes with our grief,
l.nd to the suff’rer sends relief.
Yith freedom, therefore, at the throne,
et us make all our sorrows known,
,nd ask the aid of heav’nly pow’r
