j JARK the glad sound, the Saviour comes.
The Saviour promis’d long!
et ev’ry heart prepare a throne,
i (And ev’ry voice a song,
i ii him the Spirit largely pour’d',
( Exerts his sacred fire ;
iTisdom and might, and zeal and love,
$ : His holy breast inspire.
?e comes the pris’ners -to release.
Sin Satan’s bondage held ;
■ lie gates of brass before him burst,
iThe iron fetters yield.
,’c comes from thickest shades of night',
.To clear the inward Sight,
nd on the eye-balls of the blind
To pour celestial light,
le comes the broken heart to bind,
| The bleeding soul to cure;
!bd with the treasures of his grace
1 |T’ enrich the humble poor,
fir gliid hosannas, Prince of peace !
'Thy welcome shall proclaim;
id heav’n’s eternal arches ring
