mission. This, however, does not justify the men
where their conduct was wrong. The good that fol¬
lowed could by no means acquit them of the sin of
the unjustifiable step which they had taken. No
doubt different minds take different views of the
same subject, and what one thinks right another
may think wrong; hut it is clear to us, that these
worthy hut mistaken men should have clung to their
brethren who were honestly bearing their testimony
on the moors and mountains of their native land,
and who disdained to accept, as a boon from the
arrogant supremacy of a mortal, that permission to
preach the gospel which they had already received
from their Divine Master.
