master; thank you!” The carrier immediately
sprang out of bed, and out of the room; my
master followed close at his heels, and left the
old chap by himself, which was all he wanted.
In his retreat my master dropped me, and I
never saw him more.
The servant came into the room about six in
the morning, but the old man was gone, and I
lay on the carpet unperceived.
