THE
CHOICE,
A
POEM.
BY JOHN POMFRET.
The Choice exhibits a fyftem of life adapted to common no¬
tions, and equal to common expeAations; the pleafure of
fmooth metre is afforded to the ear, and the mind is not op-
preffed with ponderous, or entangled with intricate femi-
ments. Perhaps no compofition in our languago has been
oftener perufed than Pomfret’s choice.
Johnson.
Printed for Alex. Cameron, Bookfeller,
Giasgow.
