7 volumes in 9. Based on a slip catalogue prepared by S. Halkett, who began the printing in 1860 and completed it to Volume 2, page 104; Volumes 2-3 and the greater part of Volume 4 were edited by T. H. Jamieson, assisted by J. A. Hjaltalín; the remainder, by Mr. Hjaltalín alone. The part edited by Halkett contains biographical notices and fuller entries. Contents: V. 1. Covers legal and non-legal printed material, including the 9-volume set printed between 1867 and 1879. Also Gaelic and genealogical manuscript holdings. Non-legal items are held by the National Library.
