'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince': acquired in 2005

In July 2005, the National Library of Scotland received one of the first copies of 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince' to be printed and cased.

It was the first to leave the printers – Clay Ltd, St Ives plc – and the first to leave the office of the publishers Bloomsbury Publishers plc.

The book is inscribed by author J K Rowling, and was donated to the National Library by the publishers.
