Description	The script is Caroline minuscule, with headings in rustic capitals, and also square capitals on a display page, folio 80 verso (beginning of book xi). Written by several hands in a French scriptorium north of the Loire in the second half of the 9th century. The binding dates from the 13th century.

Medieval and early modern manuscripts
Description	A selection of over 200 volumes of medieval and early modern manuscripts, dating from the 9th to the 17th century. Some of Scotland's most important early manuscripts are included in the many Scottish volumes. These are complemented by interesting and significant works of international origin, including volumes from France, England, the Low Countries, Italy and a number of other countries. Most of the manuscripts were collected by the Advocates Library, the forerunner of the National Library of Scotland.
