The Battle of Britain: August-October 1940

Winston Churchill's famous quote 'Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few' was inspired by the airmen involved in this battle in the skies above Britain. Almost 500 British pilots were killed.

Radar played a significant part in the RAF victory and, to a lesser extent, so did information decrypted by Enigma.
