Safe conduct pass

This straightforward leaflet states the rights of prisoners of war. It reassures the soldier that he will be treated according to the Hague and Geneva Conventions. It is brightly coloured – perhaps to make it easier to spot after it was airdropped by the Allies?

To avoid misunderstandings, the soldier was instructed to lay down his weapon, helmet and belt, put his hands up and wave either a handkerchief or the leaflet if he was captured.
