Dying thoughts by the Rev William Crawford is a book about the soul, sin and death. It was first published in 1738. The edition produced in Paisley in 1769 is already the fifth.

About the printers

In 1769 the Glasgow printer Archibald MacLean went into partnership with the bookseller Alexander Weir. Together they established the first printing press in Paisley. Weir kept his bookseller's business at the same time.

Like many other budding printers, they started their production with reprints and further editions of popular works.
