The Arbroath Magazine has the subtitle "a literary repository". It contains essays, letters, poetry, and intelligence information, and only very little news. It appeared fortnightly from October 1799 until September 1800. The Library’s copy of the Arbroath Magazine is missing. The only other known copy belongs to the Arbroath Public Library.
About the printer
John Findlay both printed and published the Arbroath Magazine. Although he had assistance from literary people, the financial support he received was not sufficient. After only one year, he had to abandon the publication.
