Miss Home's house, Fairlie, Ayrshire. Helen Home (1795-1858) was a lady of “independent means,” from Edinburgh. She lived in Fairlie Lodge, an 18th century house overlooking the beach, and kept four live-in servants: a housekeeper, a housemaid, a cook and a general house and garden man. She died in her Edinburgh home in Morningside.
