Last Supper (miniature)
Full-page miniature of the Last Supper. All four Gospels have accounts of the Last Supper but this miniature comes closest to that of John, according to whom Christ identified Judas as the traitor by offering him the morsel of dipped bread (John 13.21-30). This miniature and that on facing leaf were intended to be seen as a diptych. Painted by the Passion Artist. Beneath the miniature are traces of two post-Reformation inscriptions, both now illegible.
