Reverse of miniature (unpainted) - added Latin prayer to the Virgin
The reverse of the miniature was left deliberately unpainted. A quire signature at the foot of the page (III) shows that this leaf originally stood at the end of the third quire. At some time in 14th century a prayer to the Virgin in rhyming Latin verses was added. It now faces the miniature of the Annunciation and perhaps did so then. It is now damaged and partly illegible.
