HISTORY OF THE CLAN MACKENZIE;
With Genealogies of the Principal Families of the Name,

History of the Macdonalds and Lords of the Isles".
OPINIONS OF THE PRESS.
"The work has an intense interest of a certain kind, and there is a
suggestive picturesqueness about the appellations of the chiefs. The
various branches of the clan are traced genealogically to the presen/
clay, a stiff piece of labour for which Mr. Mackenzie certainly deserve ,
the thanks of his kinsmen." — Athenaum.
"It was certainly no ordinary task that the enthusiastic editor of the
Celtic Magazine imposed upon himself in writing up the history of his
clan ; but the manner in which he has accomplished the work reflects
great credit, not only on his devotion to the family name, but his histo-
rical faculty as well. His book is a monument of careful and pains-
taking labour."- — Literary World.
" Copious and complete. . The labour that must have been
bestowed upon the work is amazing." — Lnverness Courier.
" Valuable to all who take an interest in Celtic Literature — full of
Antiquarian lore — to a great extent a general history of the Highlands."
— Dundee Advertiser.
"A marvel of research and painstaking study." — Dundee Home
Journal.
"A valuable addition to Highland literature." — Dundee Evening
Telegraph.
"Valuable contribution to family, and even to national, history." —
Aberdeen Free Press.
" It is painstaking, most luminous, and of real historical value." —
Greenock Telegraph.
"Displays literary taste, combined with careful research." — Oban
Times.
" Full of curious and entertaining matter." — Oban Telegraph.
" Will form a valuable and interesting addition to Celtic literature."
— Inverness Advertiser.
" Shows much research." — Elgin Courant.
"A great deal of research and care, so as to secure accuracy, is be-
stowed upon it." — Montrose Standard.

of research and ability." — bluntly Express.
