and by the little time I had the satisfaction to see your
son, 1 was very well pleased to see so good appearances
in him of supplying the place of so deserving a father;
and it shall be a very acceptable satisfaction to me, to
see any of your family at this place, for I am affection-
ately at your service.

This being the 3d of October, 1740, it is
this day exactly fifty years since he died, his
seven children (all he left behind him) being
still alive : there being at this time between
fifty and sixty grand-children and great-
grand-children, so that he hath in all at this
time, between sixty and seventy descendants.
