Description	Untitled. Rows of troops are lined up and marching, at right angles, passed a group of officers. Some of the officers are mounted, whilst others are standing leaning on their canes. They are surrounded by flags. The soldiers are all neatly dressed and carrying their rifles across their shoulders. This photograph has no contemporary caption attached, which is relatively unusual for the images in this collection. It is, however, one of a series of photographs taken at what appears to be the same event. One of the photographs has a pencilled remark, which reads, 'Inspection of Canadians by Winston Churchill'. It would appear to be safe to assume that this explains the situation in this image. [Original reads: No original caption.]

Unless otherwise stated, titles are the photographs' original captions. From the papers of Field Marshal (Earl) Haig (1861-1928). The Haig Papers also contain Douglas Haig’s diaries.
