| Description | A man wearing dungarees and a felt hat dominates the middle of the photograph. He is following two horses dragging a log towards the skeleton structure of a vast stack. Two men are standing watching him in the foreground. Around the skeleton of the stack, vast numbers of loggers are standing waiting for the space to be cleared so that they can continue with their work. The clearing is quite muddy but dry and stacked up with tree foliage. The edge of the forest can clearly be seen in the background. Skidding is the process of moving felled timbered from its original place to another holding point, thus clearing the ground so more timber can be felled.
