| Description | British Cavalry waiting to advance during World War I. Men of the British Cavalry stand next to their horses. They can be seen far into the distance, along with a number of carts and wagons. The men are all wearing helmets and large overcoats, and the horses are heavily laden with equipment and weaponry. Prior to World War I, military action was largely undertaken by the cavalry. By the Second World War, however, the aeroplane and tank had taken over.
