        LINES WRITTEN ON

      THE HOLY MISSION

                           OF

               BORRIS

Yen Roman Catholicks throughout this Dloces,
Pray lend your aid while those lines I write.
Ou these Holy Fathers and pious Clergy
Whom our Holy Father Garey id of late invite
For to preach the gospel from its full found tioe
Like the great Saint Patrick in the days of yore,
And to do penance for our trausgrcsions,
And premise them to sinno more,

Their hearts are rejoicinn from early morning
Untill late the evening of the long f|ay,
To see us crouding rouud the r tr buuia's
And before the Al cr in pieus prayer
They teach us daily to pray to Mary,
As thaAugelic bell dose sweetly sound,
May God reward them and their flocks regard them
They are faithful freinds to the Bhurea of Rome

Long live our Bishop that worthy pillar,
And Blessed Father Carey of great renown
God Bless Father Duune that worthy Paster,
Long may they live now in Borris town,
There is another Ishould alse mention,
Who spares ro lahonr nor yet his time,
Hut his constant preaching and daily teaching
Bless'd Father Delany tuat pure devine,

The crouds each night to their hearts delight'
Who to the Church do nighly throng
With voice melodious like choirs of Angles,
With Heavenly musibk and Sacred songs,
Our Holy Fathers may the Lord protect them,
They are the friends of poor Erins shore,
And in retnru for their pious lecturs,
There advise well tollow for evermore,

The faith that Saint Patrick once I reach'd in Erin
From his pure pats we will never stray,
Without stain or blemish we will be protected,
And will do so until the Judgemhnt day,
Through ut this Parish we ara all rejoiciug,
siuce these Holy Missioners amongst us came,
Aad in future ages they will be recorded,
And the child unboru wiii revere their name,

Oh wheu they are goue we have canse to maurn,
Alas from as they are forced to purt,
But let ns remember their pious lectures,
That made impression on the sinners heart.
They Saints ia Heaven are now rejoicings .
Since our conversion has been restored
Let us pray siucerely to the Blessed Virgin Mary,
For God to preserve us for eveo more,
