KNOCK AND O is a parish in the
Morayshire poor combination, lying north-
west of the river Spey, which divides it
from Banffshire, and having the parishes
of Kothes on the north-east, Dallas on the
north-west, Cromdale on the south-west
and a short border of Edinkillie on the
west; its length from north-east to south-
west is about 16 miles, and breadth 6. The
church lies about the centre of the parish,
10 miles south-west of Rothes and 13
south of Elgin.
There is a Mission church at Elchies.

owners. The area of the parish is 28,134

Archiestown, a village in this parish, is
about 6 miles south-west of Rothes, 2£
miles from Carron, the nearest railway
station, and 3 from Aberlour station, both
on the Craigellachie and Boat of Garten
section of the Great North of Scotland
railway. It has a United Free church.
The population in 1901 was 330.
