The patronage of the Erskine and Orr Mortifications originally
belonged to the Earl of Kellie ; and the right of election to the
Johnston and Duncan Mortifications was vested in the Minister,
Elders, Treasurer, and a majority of the Heads of Families being
Communicants in the Parish Church. Under the provisions of the
Patronage Act, the combined Patronage is now vested in the new
Constituency of Communicants and Adherents.
