(2.) The maximum dimensions for most Colonial Parcels are
the same as for the Inland Parcel Post; for Canada, length 2 feet,
breadth or depth, I foot; for Foreign Parcels generally, length 2
feet, length and girth combined, 4 feet ; for France, Germany,
Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Holland, Norway, Portugal by sea,
Switzerland, and Sweden, 2 feet in any direction.
(3.) Dangerous and offensive articles, and contraband articles
(a list of which can be seen at any Post Office) must not be sent
by means of the Parcel Post. Parcels exceeding £50 in value
are also prohibited to India, Egypt, St Helena, Ascension, the
Cape of Good Hope, Natal, and Zanzibar.
(4.) Foreign and Colonial Parcels, cannot be accepted by a
Rural Postman or a Mail Driver.
(5.) A declaration of the contents and their value must accom-
pany every parcel. Customs duty is collected on delivery.
(6.) Parcels for Foreign Countries, the Australian Colonies,
South and Central Africa, Natal, Fiji, New Zealand, Jamaica,
Mauritius, Seychelles and Trinidad, must not contain a letter.
(7.) Compensation to an amount not exceeding in some cases
20s and in other cases 12s is given for loss or damage of Parcels
addressed to Foreign Countries and to certain Colonies.
(8.) Parcels for the following British Colonies and Depend-
encies not containing money or any article which is not trans-
missible by the Inland or Colonial Parcel Post may be insured
up to the value of £50.
Aden, Antigua, Ascension, Bahamas, Barbados, British
Guiana, British North Borneo (as far as Sandakan), Ceylon,*
Cyprus, Dominica, Falkland Islands, Gambia, Gibraltar,
Grenada, Hong Kong, India, Labuan, Montserrat, Nevis, New-
foundland, St Helena, St Kitts, St Lucia, St Vincent, Straits
Settlements (Malacca, Penang, Province of Wellesley, and
Singapore only), Tobago, Tortola, Trinidad, Zanzibar.
