The average number of in-door poor, from 15th May, 1847, till
1 4th May, 1848, has been 193. The in-door expenditure during this
period has been £1236 7s. 4^d., being at the rate of £6 8s. l^d. per
annum for each inmate, or 2s. 5|cL Weekly.
The average number of permanent out-door poor has been 755, and
the expenditure on their account has been £2790 12s. 3d , being at
the rate of £3 14s. per annum for each pauper, or Is. 5d. weekly.
The average number of permanent poor of all classes has been 948,
and the expenditure on their account has been £4440 10s. 9d., being
at the rate of £4 13s. 8d. per annum for each pauper, or Is. 9|d.,
weekly.
The average number of casual poor for the year has been 523.
The expenditure on their account has been £1935 lis. 3d., being at
the rate of £3 14s. per annum for each pauper, or Is. 5d. weekly.
On 14th May, 1847, there Was a balance in favour of the Board of
£780 13s. 6fd. At this date, the balance in favour of the Board is
£278 10s. 8|d., showing a balance against the Board, as compared
with last year, of £502 2s. I0£d.
