Broadside ballad entitled 'A New Whig Garland'
A New Whig Garland.
TUNE?A begging we will go.
I am a freeman, tight and sound,
And a voting we will go, will go,
Two Members for the Parliament
Our votes the old ones ask again,
Their independent tradesmen too,
They've served us well in times of peace,
But there's Jamie Abercrombie, lads,
And next there's Francis Jeffrey,
They know what cargoes are, and how
If these our Members be, my lads,
Then honest lads, beware of lies,
And a voting, &c. C. M'K.
