RETIRED PAY— continued.
4. Under circumstaaces other than those specified in Clauses 1, 2 and 3, an Officer retired with
less than 20 years' service to receive a gratuity, on the above scale if he has 8 years' Pull-pay
service, and on that provided in Clause 2 (b) should his Full-pay service not amount to 8 years'
Half-pay or retired pay will not be allowed.
The power vested in the Admiralty of granting reduced rates of half-pay and retired pay in
cases of misconduct is extended to the award of gratuities on retirement, and the gratuity
awarded in such cases will be reduced to such amount as is thought fit.

Adjutant-General Royal Marines.
( Under Order in Council of lltfi June, 1902.;
Half or retired pay payable on relinquishment of the appointment to be increased by
£50 a year for each year's service as Adjutant-General, the total of half or retired pay,
however, not to exceed £950 a year.
