Order in Council, 18 May, 1897. To take effect from 1 April, 1897. No Officer in the Service
on that date who is entitled under existing regulations to a higher rate of half-pay than
those specified above shall be prejudiced by these Regulations.

RETIRED PAY.
1. The Scale of Retired Pay, according to age and service, to be as follows for
Flag Officers, Captains, Commanders, Lieutenant-Commanders, and Lieutenants
An addition to be made, as specified, for each full year of additional Service, or its
equivalent, but the same not to exceed 5 years ; and a deduction to be made for
each full year wanting to complete the periods specified, but the same not to
sxceed 10 years : —
