tt Captains having higher rank by Brevet for distinguished service receive 2s. a day in addition provided
their total emoluments do not exceed the lowest rate for substantive Majors.
t A Quartermaster who on being commissioned as such is in possession of an annuity for distinguished
or meritorious service is to surrender the same, and to receive annually in lieu thereof pay equivalent
to such annuity. , ....
} A Quartermaster, if specially recommended, may be granted the 15 years' commissioned service rate of
pay after a total service of 30 years (counting all former service as fidl time) or at the age of 50 years, provided
in either case he shall have held a commission for 10 years.
H A Quartermaster, if specially recommended, may be granted the 20 years' commissioned service rate
of pay after a total service of 30 years (counting all former service as full time), or at the age of 60 years,
provided in either case he shall have held a commission for 15 years.
tt Rising by 6d. a day after each three years of service.
}{ Allowances when appointed for gunnery duties
li An allowance of 6d. a day i- payable lo these Warrant Officers when embarked.
Note.— Officers of the relative rank of Comma der, Lieutenant-Commander, or Lieutenant, when
employed in War Staff appointments or at the R.N. War Colleges, will receive allowances at the rates and
under the conditions specified on page 781a.
