Colonial Aux. Forces Officers' Decoration — contd.
Now therefore We do by these Presents for
Us, Our Heirs and Successors, make, ordain and
establish the following additional Rule and
Ordinance : —
It is ordained that The Colonial Auxiliary
Forces Officers' Decoration shall not confer any
individual precedence but shall entitle the
recipient to the addition after his name of the
letters V.D.
Given at Our Court at Saint James's thk ninth
day of May one thousand nine hundred and
twenty-five in the sixteenth year of Our Reign.

George The Fifth, by the Grace of God, of
Great Britain, Ireland and the British Dominions
beyond the Seas, King, Defender of the Faith,
Emperor of India, to all to whom these Presents
shall come, Greeting I
Whereas bv Warrant under Our Sign Manual
dated the ninth day of June one thousand nine
hundred and twentv-one We were graciously
pleased to make, ordain and establish rules and
ordinances for the governance of The Colonial
Auxiliary Forces Officers' Decoration, reserving to
Ourselves, Our Heirs and Successors full power
of annulling, altering, abrogating, augmenting,
interpreting or dispensing with those rules and
ordinances or any part thereof by a notification
under Our Sign Manual :
And Whereas the riband for the suspension
of the said Decoration which was approved by
Her late Majesty Queen Victoria was one inch
and a quarter in width and it is provided in
Our said Warrant that the Decoration shall be
suspended from the left breast by a green
riband of one inch and a half in width from a
silver brooch :
And Whereas reproductions of the said Decora-
tion known as Miniature Decorations are worn on
certain occasions and it appears to Us to be
expedient that the size and pattern of such
Miniature Decorations should be clearly defined :
Now Therefore We do by these Presents for
Us Our Heirs and Successors ordain and appoint
that the second rule and ordinance in Our said
Warrant shall be cancelled and annulled and
the following rule and ordinance shall be
substituted therefor :
Secondly : It is ordained that the Decoration
shall be worn after all British War Medals
suspended from the left breast by a green riband
of one inch and a quarter in width, from a
silver brooch :
And We do further make, ordain and establish
the following additional rule and ordinance : —
It is ordained that reproductions of the
Decoration in miniature which may be worn on
certain occasions by those to whom the Decora-
tion is awarded shall be half the size of The
Colonial Auxiliary Forces Officers' Decoration and
that a Sealed Pattern of the said Miniature
Decoration shall be deposited and kept in the
Central Chancery of Our Orders of Knighthood.
Given at Our Court at Saint James's this
22nd day of June in the year of Our Lord one
thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven and in
the eighteenth year of Our Reign.

THE TERRITORIAL DECORATION.
GEORGE, R.I.
Whereas His late Majesty King Edward VII
by a Royal Warrant dated 17th August, 1908,
did institute and create a Decoration to be
awarded to Officers of Our Territorial Force
for long and meritorious service and proved
capacity ; and did lay down rules and
ordinances for the governance of the same,
which rules and ordinances were subsequently
amended by Roval Warrants dated the 3rd day
of May, 1912, and the 11th day of November, 1918.
And Whereas We deem it expedient that the
aforementioned Royal Warrants should be
amended and consolidated :
Now Therefore We do hereby declare that
the rules and ordinances contained in the afore-
mentioned Royal Warrants shall be abrograted,
cancelled and annulled, and We are pleased to
make, ordain, and establish the following rules
and ordinances in substitution for the same,
which shall henceforth be inviolably observed
and kept : —
Firstly. — It is ordained that the Decoration
shall be styled and designated " The Territorial
Decoration," and shall consist of an Oak
Wreath in silver tied with gold, having in the
centre the Royal Cipher and Crown in gold.
Secondly. — It is ordained that the Decoration
shall be worn suspended on the left breast
from a silver Oak bar-brooch, by a green riband
of one inch and a half in width, with a yellow
stripe down the centre.
Thirdly. — It is ordained that the Decoration
may be worn by Us, Our Heirs and Successors,
Kings and Queens Regnant of the United
Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland ; and it
shall be competent for Us, Our Heirs and Suc-
cessors, to confer the Decoration upon any of
the Princes of the Royal Family of Great
Britain and Ireland.
Fourthly. — It is ordained that the period of
service reqnisite to qualify for this Decoration
shall be 20 years' commissioned service on the
active list of our Territorial Force, including
commissioned service in the senior and junior
divisions of Our Officers Training Corps ; but
previous commissioned service in Our Yeomanry
Cavalry, Imperial Yeomanry, or Volunteer Force
which ' existed before 1st April, 1908, shall be
allowed to reckon as qualifying service, as well
as previous qualifying service for the " Colonial
Auxiliary Forces Officers' Decoration," or
" Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve Officers'
Decoration."
Fifthly. — It is ordained that an Officer who
has the necessary qualifying service must he
recommended by the Commanding Officer of the
unit in which he has served, and be certified
by the District Military Authorities in which
the unit is located, as an efficient and
thoroughly capable Officer, in every way
deserving of such a Decoration.
Sixthly. — It is ordained that half the time
which an Officer may have served after the
age of 17 years on the active list in the ranks
of Our Territorial Force, or of the Yeomanry
Cavalry, Imperial Yeomanry, or Volunteer
Force which existed before 1st April, 1908 ; or
after the age of 17 years in a recognised Cadet
Corps or Battalion of the organization which
existed before the 21st May, 1910 ; or after the
age of 17 years as a Cadet in the senior division
of Our Officers Training Corps : shall be
reckoned as qualifying service for this Decoration.
Seventhly. — It is ordained that an Officer of
Our Territorial Force (including the Territorial
Force Reserve) who was serving as sucli on the
4th August, 1914, and did, before the 11th day
of November, 1918, actually serve overseas, or
sign a written agreement to serve overseas, on
military service, shall reckon all embodied
service as an Officer on the active list two-fold
as qualifying service towards the 20 years
required as aforesaid, whether such service was
in Our Royal Navy, Cur Regular Army, Our
Royal Air Force, Our Special Reserve, Our
Territorial Force, or Our Dominion or Colonial
Forces.
