The King's Colours
1st Battalion—Gules (crimson): In the centre the Royal Arms of Scotland, enslgned with the Imperial
Crown. Motto, “Sn / Ferns Hostis; ” In nase the Sphinx superscribed “ Egypt.”
2nd Battalion.—Gules (crimson): In the centre the Thistle, and the Red and White Roses conjoined,
issuant from the same stalk all proper, ensigned with the Imperial Crown; Motto, "Unlta Fortier; ”
In base the Sphinx superscribed ** Egypt; ” in the dexter canton the Union.
The Regimental Colours :—
The Union: In the centre a Company Badge enslgned with the Imperial Crown; In base the Sphinx
superscribed “ Egypt.”
The 24 Company Badges are borne In rotation, 2 at a time, one on the Regimental Colour of each of the
two Battalions.
The following honorary distinctions are borne upon each of the King’s and Regimental Colours
