12 Major Laird served in the Egyptian war in 1882, and was present in the action at Kassasin on the 9th Sep-
tember severely wounded (mentioned in despatches, Medal, and Khedive's Star).
is Major Johnston served throughout the Afghan war of 1878-80 with the Etoval Horse Artillery and was pre-
sent at the capture of the Peiwar Kotal, in the engagement at Charasiab on the 6th October 1879, and in the
operations around Cabul in December 1879 including the engagement at Killa Khazi and the investment of Sher-
pore (Medal with three Clasps).
19 Captain Robson served throughout the Afghan war of 1878-80, and was present in the engagements at Saif-
u-deen, Ahmed Kheyl, and TTrzoo near Ghuznee (Medal with Clasp). Served in the Soudan campaign in 1885, and
was present in the engagement at Hasheen (Medal with Clasp, and Khedive's Star).
81 Captain Rowley served in the Afghan war in 1879-80, and was present at the assault of Zawa (Medal). Served
with the Mahsood Wuzeeree Expedition in 1881. Served in the Egyptian war of 18S2, and was present at the battle
of Tel-el-Kebir (Medal with Clasp).
23 Major T. Lacey served in the Afghan war of 1878-80. Served with the Burmese Expedition in 1885-87 (Meda
with Clasp).
26 Captain R. Cole served in the campaign on the West Coast of Africa in 1894, and took part in the expedition
to the Gambia against Podey Silah (Medal with Clasp.)
2 ? Captain T. Munro took part in the Egyptian Expedition in 1882 (Medal, Bronze Star).
28 Captain J. T. Chapman served in the Zulu war of 1879 (Medal with Clasp.)
29 Lieut. D.Smith served in the South African war in 1899-1901 on Staff, and took part in the operations in the Orange
Pree State, including those at Paardeberg, and the actions at Poplar Grove, Driefontein, Vet River and Zand
River ; in the Transvaal in May and June 1900, including engagements near Johannesburg and Pretoria ; and in
the Transvaal, east of Pretoria (mentioned in despatches, promotion to rank of Lieut. District Officer, antedated,
Medal with four Clasps).
30 Lieut. J. T. Newton took part in the Egyptian Expedition in 1882 and 1884 (Medal with Clasp, Medal)
Served in the SoudP.n in 1885— Suakin (Clasp). Took part in the operations on the Nile in 1889.
36 CaptainT. R. Griffiths served in the campaign in Burma in 1891 with the Wuntho Expedition (Medal with
Clasp). Took part in the Expedition to Manipur in 1891 (Clasp).
40 Lieut. W. Macdcnald served in the South African war in 1899-1900, and took part in the relief of Ladysmith ;
the operations in the Transvaal in May and June 1900; in Orange River Colony; and in Cape Colony, north of
Orange River, including the engagement at Ruidam.
43 Lieut. G. Lee served in the Soudan Expedition in 1884-85— Nile ; and was present at the action of Abu Klea—
wounded (Medal with two Clasps, Bronze Star).
56 Lieut. D. Langsbn served in the South African war in 1900 in St Helena (Medal).
