10 Colonel Gordon served throughout the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the battles of Alma,
Balaklava, and Inkerman, siege and fall of Sebastopol, and sortie of 26th Oct. ; was Aide do Camp to General Simp-
son from 22nd Aug. to 12th Nov. 1855 (Medal with four Clasps, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).
12 Colonel T. S. Holroyd served with the :54th Regiment in the Crimea from the 10th August 1855, including the
-siege and fall of Sebastopol and assnult of the Redan on the 8ih September (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish
Medal). Also in the Indian campaigns in 1857-59, including the actions at Cawnpore on the 26th, 2/th and 28th
<wounded) Nov. 1857, capture of Meeangange, siege and capture of Lucknow, relief of Azimghur (was Staff
Officer to the Azimghur column in the winter of 1858-59', and defeat of the rebels at Bootwul (Medal with Clasp).
13 Colonel E. G. C. Johnsen served with the Rifle Brigade in the Indian campaign of 1857-59, including the
•operations in the Doab, siege and capture of Lucknow, action of Nawabgunge, affair of Oomarea, and Trana-
Gogra operations (Medal with Clasp).
14 Colonel La Terriere served with the 19th Hussars in the Egyptian war of 1882, and was present at the battle
of Tel-el-Kebir (Medal with Clasp, and Khedive's Star). Served during the Nile Expedition in 1684-85 with the
Egyptian Army on the Bedouin Frontier and on the lanes of Communication ; carried the despatches from the
front to Korti on several occasions, and was Staff Officer at Korti until its evacuation (Clasp).
15 Colonel Lawrence served with the 14th Regiment in the New Zealand war of 1860-61, and in that of 1863-64,
including the action at Kohewa (Medal).
16 Colonel Meysey-Thompson served as Adjutant of the 2nd Ba'talion Rifle Brigade throughout the second
phase of the Ashanti war in 1874, including the battle of Amoaful, battle of Ordahsu and capture ofCoomassie

H Colonel Norbury served as Captain in the 6th Dragoon Guards in the Crime-m campaign from 2nd July to
4th Sept. 1855, and was present at the battle of the Tchernaya and siege of Sebastopol (Mddal with Clasp, and
Turkish Medal).
ls Colonel Pearson served with the 95th Regt. in the Indian campaign in 1S58, including the siege, assault and
capture of Kotah, battle of Kota ka Serai, general action resulting in the capture of Gwalior, siege and capture
of Powrie, acted as Assistant Field Engineer, and mentioned in despatches (Medal with Clasp).
19 Colonel Sandys served in Bengal through the Sepoy Mutiny in 1857-58.
20 Colonel D. M.Smythe served in the Zulu war in 18/9 with the Natal Native Contingent (Medal with Clasp).
81 Colonel W. J. Thomas served with the 2nd Dragoon Guards the Oude campaign of 1858-59, including the
assault and capture of Birwah, and Trans-Gogra affairs at Bungaon (Medal).
22 Colonel Wynter served with the 33rd Regiment throughout the Abyssinian campaign of 1867-68, and
was present at the storming and capture of Magdala (Medal). Served in the Ashanti war, and was present at
the capture of Adubiassie (Medal with Clasp). Served in the Afghan war in 1879-80, and was present in the
engagement at Charasiah on the 6th October 1879, an< ^ in the operations round Cabul in December 18 79, including
the investment of Sherpore (mentioned in despatches) ; accompanied Sir Frederick Roberts in the march to
Candahar, and was present at the battle of Candahar (mentioned in despatches, Brevet of Major, Medal with
three Clasps, and Bronze Decoration).
23 Lt.Colonel C. E. G. Burr served in the Egyptian war of 1882 with the Royal Irish Regiment, and was present
at the battle of Tel-el-Kebir (Medal with Clasp, and Khedive's Star).
25 Lt.Colonel J. H. F. H. Connellan served with the 67th Regiment in the Afghan war of 1878-80, and was
present in the engagement at Charasiab on the 6th October 1879, and in the operations around Cabul in December
1879, including the investment of Sherpore (Medal with two Clasps).
26 Lt.Colonel Conway-Gordon served with Brasyer's Sikhs in the Indian Mutiny campaign in 1857-58, and took
part m the operations round Allahabad, and during the advance on and capture of Lucknow (Medall.
27 Lt.Colonel Cradock served in the Afghan war in 1879-80, and was present in the affair at Kokeran (men-
tioned in despatches) , and took part in the defence of Candahar, including the sortie of Deh Khojah, was
also present at the battle of Candahar (Brevet Major, Medal withCla^p).
28 Lt.Colonel dimming served with the 48th Regiment in the Crimea from the 21st April to the 7th August
1855, and was present at the siege and fall of Sebastopol, including the assault of the 18th June (Medal with
'Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
88 1 Sir William Cuninghame served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55 in the Rifle Brigade, including the battles
•of Alma, Balaklava, and Inkerman, siege and fall of Sebastoool, attack and capture of the Rifle Pits on the night
of 20th Nov. 1854 (mentioned in despatches), and attack on the Ovens (Medal with four Clasp), Victoria Cross, 5th
Glass of the Medjidie. and Turkish Medall : ww awarded the 1TC for being " highly distinguished at the capture
of the Rifle Pit* (Sebastopol), 20th Nov. 1854. His gallant conduct was recorded in the French General Orders.''
29 Sir Philrp le B. Egerton served with the 2nd Battalion Rifle Brigade the Eastern campaign of 1845 and up to
the 13th April 1855, including the battle of Alma and siege of Sebastopol (Medal with two Clasps, and TurKish
Medal).
30 Lt.Colonel Frobisher served with the 55th Regiment on the Bhootan Expedition, including the recapture of
Dewangiri in 1865 (Medal with Clasp).
31 Lt.Colonel Giles served in the Ashanti campaign from the 26th December 1873, and was employed in the
Transport Service (Medal). Served iu the Zulu war in 1879 as Officer of Transport (Medal with Clasp).
32 Lt.Colonel W. S. Greene served in the New Zealand war in 1864-66, including the attaci onthe Gate Pah
•(Medal).
33 Lt.Colonel Greenwood served with the 10th Hussars in the Afghan war in 1878-79, and was present at the
attack and capture of Ali Musjid (Medal with Clasp). Served in the Soudan Expedition in 1884 with the 10th
Hussars, and was present in the engagements at El Teb andTemai (Medal with Clasp, and Khedive's Star). [See

34 Lt.Colonel C. L. Griesbach served in the]Afghan war in 1880 as Orderly Officer to Brigadier General Nuttall,
•Commanding Cavalry Brigade, in the engagements on the Helmund and at Maiwand ; took part in the defence
of Candahar and was present at the battle of Candahar (Medal with Clasp).
,5 Lt.Colonel J. F. C. Hamilton served in the Nile Expedition in 1884-85 with the 1st Battalion of the South
Staffordshire Regiment, and was present at the action of Kirbekan (Medal with two Clasps, and Khedive's Star).
36 Lt.Colonel T. P. Hiilcoat served in the Ashanti war in 1873-74, attached to the Transport (Medal).
37 Lt.Colonel Hurt served in the Royal Navy in the Baltic in 1854 and in the Black Sea in 1854-56 (Baltic Medal,
Crimean Medal with Clasps for Azotf and Sebastopol, Turkish Medal, and 5th Class of the Medjidie).
35 Lt.Colonel Kell served with the 88th Connaught Rangers throughout the Kafir war of 1877-78, and was pre-
sent in the engagements at Neumarke and at Quintana Mountain (mentioned in despatches, promoted Captain).
Served throughout the Zulu war of 1879, and was employed on the Staff at the Port of disembarkation, Durban,
from 16th April to 26th August 1879 (Medal with Clasp).
38 Lt.Colonel Leach served iu the Kafir war of 1852-53 (Medal).
40 Lt.Colonel Leake served with the 70th Regiment in the New Zealand war of 1863-65, including operations-
in the provinces of Taranaki and Waikato (Medal).
41 Lt.Colonel M'Alester served with the 46th Regt. in the Crimea from the 8th Nov. 1854, including the siege and
fall of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).
42 Lt.Colonel J. L. G. O'Brien served with the 23rd Fusiliers in the Indian campaign of 1857-58, including the
affair of Ramgunga, siege and capture of Lucknow, and operations across the Goomtee; storm and capture of
Selim pore and Simree Forts, actions of Jhubrowlee, Poorwah, Beerah, and Buxarghat; also Trans-Gogra opera-
tions when the rebels were driven into Nepaul (Medal with Clasp).
43 Lt.Colonel Pagan served with the 2nd Battalion Highland Light Infantry in the Egyptian war of 1882, and was
•present at the battle of Tel-el-Kebir (Medal with Clasp, and Khedive's Star).
44 Lt.-Colonel Robbins served with the 91st Highlanders m the Zulu war of 1879, during the latter portion of
the campaign as Acting Adjutant, and was present in the action of Gingindhlovu and relief of Ekowe (Medal
with Clasp).
4i Lt.Colonel C. S. Shephard served in the Zulu war in 1879 (Medal). Served with the Burmese Expedition in
1886-87 as Staff Officer to Brigadier General Anderson (mentioned in despatches, DSO. and Medal with Clasp).
46 Lt.Colonel Story served in the Afjjhaa wai in i33o (Medal).
