War Services of the Officers of the Yeomanry Cavalry. 885-c
West Kent. — 1 Sir F. D. Maclean served in the Eastern campaign in 1854-55, and was present at the affair of
Sulganak and at the battle of the Alma (Medal with two Clasps, and Turkish Medal).
Leicestershire. — ' Colonel Baillie. when a Lieutenant in the Royal Horse Guards, served in the Eastern cam-
paign in 1855 as Aide de Camp to Lord Rokeby, Commanding the Brigade of Guards, and was present at the
siege of Sevastopol, until he was invalided in August (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
Middlesex. — ■ Colonel Mitford served with the 8th Hussars in the Afghan war in 1879-80 (Medal).
Montgomeryshire. — l Major Forbes served in the Zulu war in 1879 ; and was present in the cavalry affair at
Erzungayan and in the engagement at Ulundi (Medal with Clasp).
Pembroke. — l Major Cropper served in the Zulu war in 1879 as Orderly Officer to Sir Evelyn Wood, and was
present in the engagement at Ulundi (mentioned in despatches, Medal with Clasp). Served in the Boer war of
1881 as Orderly Officer to Sir Evelyn Wood (mentioned in despatches). [See also Civil Decorations for Gallantry,

Shropshire. — 3 Major Childe served in the' Egyptian war of 1882 and was present at the battle of Tel-el
Kebir (Medal with Clasp, and Khedive's Star).
5 Sir Walter O. Corbet served with the 2nd Battalion Coldstream Guards in the Egyptian war of 1882, and was
present in the engagement at Tel-el-Mahuta and at the battle of Tel-el- Kebir (Medal with Clasp, and Khedive's Star) .
6 Captain Lloyd served in the Soudan campaign in 1885 (Medal with Clasp, and Khedive's Star).
Warwickshire. — L Major Beech served in the Nile Expedition in 1884-85 with the 2nd Life Guards detachment
of the Camel Corps, and was present at the action at Abu Klea — wounded (Medal with two Clasps, and Khedive's
Star).
Wiltshire. — l Major Jliles served with the 3rd Battalion 60th Rifles in the Zulu war from .April to September
1879 (Medal with Clasp). Also served in the Boer war in 1881. Served in the Nile Expedition in 1884-85 with
the Mounted Infantry Camel CorpB, and was present in the actions at Abu Klea and Gubat — wounded (Medal
with two Clasps, and Khedive's Star).
