38 Major H. E. Buehanan-Riddell served with the 3rd Battalion 60th Rifles in the Boer war in 18S1. Served
with the 3rd Battalion King's Royal Rifle Corps in the Egyptian war of 1882, and was present in the reconnais-
sance its force from Alexandria on 5th August, in the engagement at Tel-el-Mahnta, in the action at Kassasin
(oth September), and at the battle of Tel-el-Kebir (Medal with Clasp, and Khedive's Star); also served in the
Soudan Expedition in 1884 with the 3rd Battalion King's Royal Rifle Corps, and waspresent in the engagements
at El Tel) find Temai (two Clasps). Served in the Soudan campaign in 1885 (Clasp).

engagements at El Teb ar.fl Temai (5th Class of the Medjidie, two Clasps). Served with the expedition to the
Soudan in 18S5 as Aide de Oimp to Major General Ewart, Commanding Lines of Communication (Brevet of Major,
Clasp).
