I Lieut. General the Hon. J. J. Bourke served in the Eastern Campaign of 1854-55 with the 88th Regimcrt, and was
present at the battles of Alma and Inkerman, and siege of Sebasoopol (Medal with three Clasps, 5th Class of the
Medjidie, and Turkish Medal). Served in India during the suppression of the mutiny in 1857-58, and was present at
the affair of Bhognapore (mentioned in despatches), siege of Lucknow in March 1858, and siege and fall of Calpee
(Brevet of Lt. Colonel, Medal with Clasp for Central India).
'- Major Brown served in the Nile Expedition in 1S84-85 with the 2nd Battalion of the Essex Regiment (Medal

40 Captain Fitton served in the campaign in the Eastern Soudan in 18S5 with the 1st Battalion of the Berkshire
Regiment (Medal with Clasp, and Khedive's Star). Served with the Egyptian Frontier Field Force in 1885-86,
and was present in the engagement at Giniss and at the attack on Ambigole Wells. Served with the Dongola Ex-
peditionary Force under Sir Herbert Kitchener in 1896 as Deputy Assistant Adjutant General Infantry Division,
including the engagement at Firket and the opeiations at Hafir (mentioned in despatches, DSO., and. Khedive's
Medal with two Clasps).
41 Captain Taylor served throughout the campaign in the Eastern Soudan in 1885 with the 1st Battalion of the Berk-
shire Regiment, and was present in the reconnaissance to Hasheen on the 1st February, in the engagements at
Hasheen and the Tofrek zereba, and the subsequent advance to and burning of Temai (Medal with two Clasps,
and Khedive's Star). Served with the Egyptian Frontier Field Force in 1885-86.
4a Lieut. Cloke served in the Egyptian war of 1882, and was present at the reconnaissance to a,nd surrender of
Kafr Dowar (Medal, and Khedive's Star). Served at Assiout during the Nile Expedition in 1S34-85, and was pre-
sent in the engagements at Hasheen and tho Tofrek zereba (mentioned in despatches, two Clasps, and Medal for
distinguished conduct in the field).
