1 Sir James TalbotAirey servedas Aide de Camp to Major General Elphinstone in Affghanistan in 1841-42, and was
present at the storming of the Khoord CaboolPass on the 12th Oct. iS4iunder Sir Robert Sale, and had his horse shot
under him. He served during the insurrection at Cabool from 2nd November 1841 till January 1842; was present at the
storming of the Rickarb Bashec and the neighbouring forts ; also in the action on the heights on the 13th November,.
and the battle of Beymaroo on 23rd November. Delivered up as a hostage to the Affghansonthe2istDec. 1841, and
remained a prisoner in their hands until the 17th Sept. 1842. On release joined the force proceeding to the Kohistan
as second in command of Khuzzilbash Horse, under Sir John M'Caskill, and was present at the storming and
capture of Istaliff (Medal). Was present -with the Buffs in the Gwalior campaign of 1S43, and in the battle of Punniar
(Bronze Star). Served throughout the Eastern campaign of 1854-55 as Assistant Quarter Master General of the-
Right Division; on the 14th September 1854 captured and brought into camp at Oil Fort 75 Russian waggons
laden with forage and flour on their way to Sebastopol ; present at the affair of Bulganack. battles of Alma (horse-
shot through the neck), Balaklava, and' Inkerman. Served as Quarter Master Genera! of the Expedition to Kertch.
under Sir George Brown in May 1855, and succeeded as senior officer to the command of the English troops on the
departure of that General to Anapa; returned to Sebastopol on the 18th June ; present the entire siege of Sebas-
topol and the attack of the Redan on the 8th September (Medal with four Clasps, CB., Knight of the Legion of
Honor. 4th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).

3 Lt.Colonel Greenfield served in the operations in the Northern Chin Hills in 1892-93 (mentioned in despatches.
Brevet of Lt.Colonel).
4 Major Kekewich served throughout the operations in the Malay Peninsula in 1875-76 (Medal with Clasp)..
Served with the Nile Expedition in 1884-85 as Deputy Assistant Adjutant and Quarter Master General (mentioned
in despatches, Brevet of Major, Medal with Clasp, and Khedive's Star). Served in the operations near Suakin
in December 1888 as Brigade Major and afterwards as Deputy Assistant Adjutant General of British troops, and
was present in the engagement at Gemaizah (mentioned in despatches, 4th Class of the Medjidie, and Clasp).
5 Major Daniel served in the Nile Expedition in 1884-85 with the Transport and attached to the 1st Battalion o
the Royal Irish Regiment (Medal with Clasp, and Khedive's Star).
6 Major Snow served in the Zulu war of 1879 (Medal with Clasp). Served in the Nile Expedition, in 1884-85.
with the Mounted Infantry of the Camel Corps, and was present in the actions at Abu Klea and Abu Kru —
severely wounded (Medal with two Clasps, and Khedive's Star).
7 Captain Murray served in the operations in Zululand in 1888.
8 Captain Hickman served with the Nile Expedition in 1884-85 (Medal with Clasp, and Khedive's Star). Served
in the operations in the Soudan in December 1888 including the engagement at Gemaizah (4th Class of the Medjidie,
Clasp).
9 Captain Wilkinson served in the Soudan campaign in 1885 (Medal with Clasp, and Khedive's Star).
10 Captain Reynolds served with the Burmese Expedition in 1 886-88 (Medal with two Clasps); with the Chin-
Lushai Expeditionary Force in 1889-90 as Transport Officer (Clasp) ; and with the Manipore Field Force in 1891 as-
Brigade Transport Officer (Clasp).
