1 Major General Mussenden served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55 with the 8th Hussar?, including tho
battles of Alma, Balaclava (horse shot), Inkerman, and Tchernaya, affairs of Bulganak and M'Kenzie's Farm,
and siege of Sebastopol (Medal with four Clasps, 5th Class of the Medjidie. and Turkish Medal). Served in
Rajpootana in 1858-59, and was present at the capture of Kotah and battle of Kotaria (Medal with Clasp).
1 Major Durf served in the Afghan war in 1879-80 with the 8th Hussars (Medal).
6 Lt.Colonel Clowes served with the 8th Hussars in the Afghan war in 1879-80 including the engagement aS
Mazeena (Medal).
7 Major Wood served with the 8th Hussars in theAfghanwar in 1879-80, and took part in the Zaimusht Expe-
dition including the engagement at Mazeena (Medal).
8 Major Mahon served with the Dongola Expeditionary Force under Sir Herbert Kitchener in 1896 as Staff
Officer, including the engagement at Firket and the operations at Hafir (mentioned in despatches, DSO. anc&
Khedive's Medal with two Clasps).
